Privacy policy

Hop & Spell doesn't collect, keep or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

The iPhone app

• Your game stays on your phone. Your scores, Daily results, streak, Pip's looks and your settings are saved on your iPhone only. We never see them. Deleting the app deletes them; an iPhone backup keeps them.
• No accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. The app has no sign-in, shows no ads, contains no analytics or advertising code, and doesn't follow you across other apps or websites.
• Apple handles purchases. When you buy or restore Plus, Apple takes the payment through your Apple Account. The app only asks Apple, on your phone, whether Plus is unlocked. We never receive your name, email or payment details. Apple's own privacy policy is at apple.com/legal/privacy.
• Sharing is your choice. When you tap Share, your result goes only where you send it. Save Image asks your permission to add the picture to Photos; the app can add pictures but can't see your photos.
• Crash reports. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers (on your iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us crash reports and usage statistics that don't identify you. You can turn this off at any time.
• Beta testing. If you test an early version through Apple's TestFlight, Apple shares with us the name and email address you were invited with (if you were invited by email), basic information such as when you installed it and any crashes, and any feedback you send. We use it only to improve the game.

This website

• The version of the game you can play in a browser works the same way: your scores and settings are saved in your browser on your device only. It sets no cookies, shows no ads and has no analytics. Every file comes from this site, so no other company's servers are contacted.
• Like every website, the company that hosts these pages receives technical details such as your IP address and browser type in order to send them to you, and may keep them briefly in its logs for security. We don't use them to identify you.

Children

The game is made for all ages, and it collects no personal information from anyone, children included.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal information about you, there's nothing for us to give you a copy of, correct or delete. If you have a question about your privacy, email us. If you're in the UK, you can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If anything here changes, for example if the game adds world scoreboards through Apple's Game Center, we'll update this page and its date before the change reaches the game.
